Job summary

SCA Health is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the PreOp/PACU role in Charlotte, NC. The nurse will assess patients before and after surgery, monitor vital functions, and implement a perianesthesia care plan aligned with facility policies.

Responsibilities include ensuring patient safety, applying discharge criteria, and communicating clearly with the care team. Certification requirements include BLS/BCLS, ACLS (PALS if pediatric care is involved).

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
• Current state licensure to practice within good standing.
• BLS/BCLS certification within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS certification within 90 days of employment.
• PALS certification required if pediatric care is included within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA Health.
• Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status per policy.
• Interpret information from monitors.
• Describe pathophysiology of common diseases.
• Apply relevant discharge criteria and perianesthesia plan of care.
• Provide hand-off reports to care teammates.
• Delegate tasks per applicable regulations and job descriptions.
• Maintain patient safety and confidentiality.
