Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Nursing degree or documented plan to complete it
• Current State of Texas license to practice professional nursing
• Basic Life Support certification
• Professional certification in clinical area or management preferred
• Additional certifications may be required based on discipline and/or nursing unit requirements

Responsibilities

• Manages daily operations of a patient care department, forecasting staffing and coverage
• Serves as charge nurse and provides direct patient care as needed
• Collaborates with physicians, management and staff to address strategic initiatives
• Evaluates programs and processes for continuous improvement and patient outcomes
• Ensures safe care within budget and policies; promotes staff development and performance management
• Acts as mentor and resource to less experienced staff
