Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Manager, Nursing to provide 24-hour operational leadership for patient care in designated areas. The role emphasizes collaboration across departments, leadership in staff scheduling, budgeting, and policy development to ensure safety and quality outcomes.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, 3 years of nursing experience with leadership, Texas RN licensure, BLS, and ANCC Magnet certification within 1 year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Three years’ nursing experience, with at least one year in progressive leadership in healthcare; HM internal candidates require two years in nursing with leadership demonstrated (e.g., charge nurse).
• RN licensure in Texas (Texas Board of Nursing) and permanent license within 60 days if establishing residency; BLS certification; Magnet ANCC certification within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Oversee 24-hour operational responsibility for patient care in designated areas.
• Foster interdepartmental collaboration and participate in committees representing the unit and Nursing.
• Manage staffing, budget compliance, policy development, and staff coaching to ensure safe, effective care and high patient satisfaction.
• Lead performance initiatives, improve outcomes, and ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance.
