Job summary

Barkley SurgiCenter is hiring a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse to join our peri-operative team. The LPN provides professional nursing care through assessment, planning, treatment and evaluation of patients undergoing endoscopy and operating room procedures.

Under general direction, the LPN delivers safe, compassionate care, assists with pre/post-procedure care, documents records, and supports discharge instructions.

Qualifications

• Graduate of professional school of nursing.
• Holds current LPN license in the state.
• Current certification in BLS or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Clinical peri-operative nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verifies that essential equipment is functioning properly each day.
• Assesses and monitors patients in the post-operative area with monitoring equipment.
• Transports and positions patients following safety requirements.
• Documents patient care records accurately.
• Maintains patient safety and a clean environment throughout the Center.
• Adheres to aseptic technique and infection control procedures.
• Conducts pre and post-procedure orientation and discharge instructions.
• Participates in the QAPI and Safety Program.
