Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network invites applications for the OR LPN Internship, a full-time paid 16 to 18-week program designed to train Licensed Practical Nurses in the perioperative scrub role across LVHN surgical campuses and specialties.

Interns will learn asepsis principles, instrument handling, and operate within the surgical team under guidance. Placement in a LVHN campus is determined by departmental needs.

Qualifications

• LPN program completion and PA licensure eligibility.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Effective time management and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates safe and effective conduct of surgical procedures and maintains sterile field.
• Prepares operating room and gathers sterile supplies, instruments and equipment.
• Assists the scrub and circulating nurse during procedures and turnover.
• Ensures safety protocols and collaborates with team throughout cases.
