UVM Health Network - Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital is seeking an LPN/Operating Room Technician (LPN/ORT) to join the surgical team. The role includes scrubbing, instrument handling, and assisting in the OR before, during, and after procedures.

The LPN/ORT may circulate under RN supervision, supports education of new staff, and collaborates with RNs and management on instrumentation. Primary work at the CVPH main campus with duties in Pre-op and Post-op areas as needed.

Formación

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Currently Licensed Practical Nurse in New York State.
• Meets requirements of pre-employment screening and physical.
• Excellent attendance record required.
• Process basic windows knowledge.
• Must be able to take call as scheduled.
• Must be self-motivated and technically adept.
• Able to handle a high stress level.
• Must be able to stand for prolonged periods.
• BLS Certified preferred or obtain within six months.
• Knowledge of technical OR equipment and/or Anatomy & Physiology.

Responsabilidades

• Act as primary scrub person and handle instruments, supplies, and equipment before, during and after the surgical procedure.
• May also circulate under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Serve as a resource person for certain specialties and mentor new LPN/ORTs.
• Work closely with RNs in room and management about instrumentation and equipment for cases.
• Assist in education of all LPN/ORTs and provide orientation and training.
• Work primarily at CVPH main campus with assignments to Ambulatory Surgery Center; assist Pre-op and Post-op areas as directed.
• Perform tasks such as collecting blood, performing ECGs, and assisting with receptionist/clerical activities.
