Job summary

IU Health in Indiana seeks a PREOP/GI Clinical Nurse to support patients and providers across perioperative and procedural care. The role blends GI teching, patient prep, circulating duties, bronchoscopy support, anesthesia assistance and post-procedure recovery.

Requires ASN; BSN preferred; active RN license in Indiana or via NLC; BLS and other ACLS ALS may be required; strong documentation and teamwork expected.

Qualifications

• Requires ASN; BSN preferred.
• Active RN licensure in Indiana or via NLC.
• Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program; exceptions for >2 years acute care.

Responsibilities

• GI Procedure Support: assist GI physician, manage endoscopy equipment, clean/reprocess scopes.
• Circulating Nurse/Tech: circulate GI/surgical/bronchoscopy cases; assist anesthesia; document intra-procedural data.
• Pre-Procedure Patient Preparation: prepare patients; assist with nerve blocks and anesthesia; IV access and history.
• Post-Procedure Recovery: monitor sedation recovery; charting and discharge readiness.
• Bronchoscopy Support: circulate cases, assist with sedation/medication, and manage specimens.
• Call Rotation: participate in department call; two 24‑hour weekend shifts in six weeks.
