Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System in New York seeks a Per Diem Perioperative Technical Coordinator to oversee procurement and management of operating room equipment and supplies. You will coordinate maintenance, exchanges, repairs, testing, and inventory tracking to ensure availability and policy compliance.

Responsibilities include assisting with training, performing minor repairs, coordinating rentals, and maintaining equipment par levels in a fast-paced surgical setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; Associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in a clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates yearly preventive maintenance programs for medical equipment.
• Manages exchange of equipment for newly inspected items under policy and PEP program.
• Directs tagging and repair of equipment and ensures proper operation of devices.
• Tests medical equipment to verify proper functionality.
• Assists managers with training and skills assessment.
• Attends and/or conducts in-services as required.
• Performs minor technical repairs and reports issues to the appropriate department.
• Arranges rental of surgical equipment and maintains tracking systems.
• Reviews equipment usage to maintain adequate inventory levels.
• Participates in environmental rounds and supports safety initiatives.
• Inspects devices like suction meters, video towers, oxygen valves, and bed monitors.
• Directs staff to receive and retrieve items from storeroom and maintains par levels.
• Performs other related duties as required.
