Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System in New York is seeking a Registered Nurse to manage care activities, assess and plan patient care, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team to achieve favorable outcomes. You will support teaching, discharge planning, and bedside leadership within a dynamic hospital setting.

The role requires current NY RN licensure, BLS/BCLS certification, and experience in perioperative or surgical care; CNOR is preferred.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred; ADN considered with relevant experience or active BSN matriculation if approved by CNO
• Circulating experience in OR or surgery center; Periop 101 preferred
• Licensed registered nurse with current NY State registration
• BLS / BCLS certification required
• CNOR highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Nursing assessment based on interview, exam, observation and records review
• Document progress in progress notes and revised care plans
• Discharge planning aligned with patient status and inter-departmental communication
• Educate patient based on readiness to learn
• Support orientation of new staff and act as preceptor/mentor
• Provide direction and accountability for care tasks and unit needs
• Coordinate patient care with other disciplines and leadership
• Contribute to staff development and peer appraisal
• Ensure care delivery meets priority patient needs
