Job summary

MedStar Georgetown University Hospital is seeking an experienced Pre and Post Operative Clinical Nurse Educator to lead educational initiatives and advance evidence-based practice across nursing teams.

The role focuses on mentoring staff, developing unit-based education, supporting certification, and participating in quality improvement, with responsibilities spanning Pre operative, PACU, and Post Procedural units on the Georgetown campus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NLN accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
• Active DC RN license and BLS required.
• Experience in pre/postoperative nursing education and university teaching settings.

Responsibilities

• Mentor, coach, and role model for nursing staff.
• Assess learning needs and design, implement, and evaluate education programs.
• Support certification and professional development including fellowship programs.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and nursing research.
• Collaborate across interdisciplinary and academic partners to advance education.
• Promote shared governance through participation in nursing councils and system initiatives.
