Responsibilities

• Monitor, evaluate and improve quality of practice in a designated surgical area
• Act as educator and clinical resource for staff
• Coordinate staff assignments and 24-hour call coverage
• Assist in development of standards of care, policies and care paths
• Maintain equipment, materials and supplies for the surgical area
• Prepare performance appraisals and contribute to budget considerations
