Job summary

Back Bay Periodontics & Dental Implants in Boston, MA seeks a Registered Dental Assistant specialized in periodontics to support the periodontist during surgical and non-surgical procedures. You will assist with prep, imaging, and patient care in a modern, patient-centered environment.

You will handle pre/postoperative care, sterile preparation, radiographs, patient comfort, and accurate documentation, while collaborating with a skilled team focused on precision, safety, and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Dental Assistant license in MA is required
• Massachusetts Dental Radiology Certification is required
• Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain within 1 month of hire
• Strong attention to detail with patient safety and infection control
• Excellent manual dexterity and clinical precision
• Ability to work in a fast-paced periodontal setting

Responsibilities

• Assisting the periodontist during periodontal and implant procedures
• Performing preoperative and postoperative patient care duties
• Preparing treatment rooms and maintaining a sterile environment
• Supporting an unobstructed operative field using suction, retractors, and irrigation
• Preparing, inspecting, and sterilizing instruments and equipment
• Obtaining and processing dental radiographs and imaging as needed
• Monitoring patient comfort and status during procedures
• Reviewing postoperative instructions and reinforcing care guidance with patients
• Completing accurate clinical documentation and patient narratives
• Coordinating supplies and equipment for daily operations
• Supporting additional clinical responsibilities as assigned
