Job summary
Midwest Dental in Minnesota is seeking a Periodontal Assistant to support the dental team with high-quality patient care. You will assist during procedures, prepare instruments, and maintain a clean, organized work environment while communicating effectively with patients.
The ideal candidate will have a MN Dental Assisting License, current CPR/BLS certification, and knowledge of dental terminology and infection control. This full-time role offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.
Qualifications
- MN Dental Assisting License (required).
- CPR/BLS certification current and valid.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, infection control and HIPAA/OSHA standards.
- Strong communication and commitment to quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Accurately record medical/medication history.
- Seat and prepare patients for treatment, including biopsies and grafting.
- Maintain operatory cleanliness and disinfectant protocols.
- Be knowledgeable on emergency protocols (BLS/AED).
- Send Preop, Postop and MD clearance letters.
- Maintain biopsy reports and logs, review postoperative instructions.
- Take periapical x-rays, CT scans and intraoral photos.
- Monitor prosthetic cases and ensure readiness for appointments.
