Job summary

Midwest Dental in Minnesota is seeking a Periodontal Assistant to support the dental team with high-quality patient care. You will assist during procedures, prepare instruments, and maintain a clean, organized work environment while communicating effectively with patients.

The ideal candidate will have a MN Dental Assisting License, current CPR/BLS certification, and knowledge of dental terminology and infection control. This full-time role offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• MN Dental Assisting License (required).
• CPR/BLS certification current and valid.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, infection control and HIPAA/OSHA standards.
• Strong communication and commitment to quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Accurately record medical/medication history.
• Seat and prepare patients for treatment, including biopsies and grafting.
• Maintain operatory cleanliness and disinfectant protocols.
• Be knowledgeable on emergency protocols (BLS/AED).
• Send Preop, Postop and MD clearance letters.
• Maintain biopsy reports and logs, review postoperative instructions.
• Take periapical x-rays, CT scans and intraoral photos.
• Monitor prosthetic cases and ensure readiness for appointments.

In this Periodontal Assistant opportunity, you will support the dental team in delivering high-quality patient care by assisting during dental procedures, preparing instruments, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a caring and professional demeanour, ability to start within a month and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule (days/hours)

2 Fridays a month 8-5pm

Responsibilities

• Accurately record medical/medication history.
• Seats and prepares the patients treatment including biopsies, grafting and pathology procedures & knowledgeable with implant case setup including components.
• Maintain cleanliness and disinfectant protocols in operatory before and after treatment.
• Be knowledgeable on emergency protocols (BLS/AED).
• Send out Preop, Postop and MD clearance letters.
• Accurately maintain Biopsy reports and logs.
• Accurately review post-operative instructions.
• Ability to accurately take periapical x-rays, CT scans and intraoral pictures
• Monitors prosthetic cases and ensures they are ready for the patient’s appointment

Qualifications

• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Knowledge of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and OSHA/HIPAA standards
• Strong communication and commitment to excellent patient care

Compensation

$37-$40/hour
