The New Mexico Department of Health seeks a Perinatal Surveillance Manager in Santa Fe to lead the birth defects surveillance program, supervise PRAMS staff, and guide perinatal data analysis.
You will design surveillance systems, develop reports and infographics, manage grants and contracts, and liaise with policymakers, clinicians, and public health partners to improve maternal and perinatal health. This is a senior, full-time role requiring strong leadership and communication.

This position serves the Family Health Bureau's efforts to improve maternal and perinatal health in the state of New Mexico. The perinatal surveillance manager directs the birth defects surveillance program, supervises PRAMS staff (pregnancy risk assessment monitoring system), and newborn hearing surveillance.
The job is done for NM women, birthing and parenting people, families, clinicians, policy makers and public health practitioners.
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited college or university and eight (8) years of professional level experience with a light strategic impact directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling twelve (12) years may substitute for the required education and experience. A hiring agency will designate a portion of the required experience to include management, supervisory and/or specialized experience. Any required licensure, certification or registration shall be defined at the time of recruitment and will be in addition to the above requirements.
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Office setting, exposure to Visual/Video Display terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and cellular telephone usage with extended periods of sitting. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Position might require infrequent travel.
