Job summary

Allina Health is seeking a Perinatal Sonographer to perform complete fetal ultrasound procedures and support high-risk pregnancies with expertise and compassion. You will collaborate with physicians and specialists, adhering to ACR guidelines and department policies while ensuring accurate documentation and high-quality imaging.

The role offers 0.6 FTE (48 hours per two-week pay period) with 8-hour day shifts and no weekend work.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Vocational degree from an accredited School of Diagnostic Ultrasound.
• Vocational or Technical Training graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology and 2 year School of Diagnostic Ultrasound.
• Vocational or Technical Training graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology and ARDMS registered or registry eligible

Responsibilities

• Performs complete fetal ultrasound procedures to acquire data. Assists physician in ultrasound-assisted invasive procedures.
• Works in accordance with department policies and the American College of Radiology (ACR).
• Completes procedures in compliance with physician orders and department guidelines.
• Uses Excellian (electronic medical record) and ensures documentation is complete post procedure.
• Communicates with supervisor and team and reports problems or ideas.

Job Description

Performs complete fetal ultrasound procedures to acquire data on normal and at-risk patients. Also assists the physician in the performance of ultrasound-assisted invasive procedures. Uses independent judgement, and has thorough understanding of equipment and positioning to provide optimum service to patients and providers. Works in accordance with department policies and the American College of Radiology (ACR).

Principle Responsibilities

• Completes procedures in compliance with physician orders and department guidelines
  • Identifies patient with two identifiers.
  • Documents accurately all needed aspects of the procedure.
  • Observes and communicates with patient, responding to needs.
  • Maintains safe patient environment in procedure area.
• Performs procedures with high degree of accuracy
  • Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of all diagnostic equipment.
  • Maintains work knowledge and competence.
  • Gathers all relevant information to assist in interpretation of images.
  • Verifies all images has appropriately transferred to imaging storage and retrieval system.
• Provides accurate clerical function
  • Uses Excellian (electronic medical record).
  • Understands the storage and retrieval system.
  • Ensures all documentation is complete post procedure.
• Communicates with supervisor and team
  • Reports problems, issues or ideas.
  • Provides assistance, ideas and information to support the work of others.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Associate's or Vocational degree from an accredited School of Diagnostic Ultrasound or
• Vocational or Technical Training graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology and 2 year School of Diagnostic Ultrasound or
• Vocational or Technical Training graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology and ARDMS registered or registry eligible

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year of Diagnostic Sonography experience

Licenses/Certifications

• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) required upon hire
• ARDMS Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) specialty certification required upon hire
• Must obtain ARDMS Fetal Echocardiography (FE) specialty certification within 24 months from the start of the echo training. Echo training begins 4 months following your start date
• Nuchal Translucency Certification with Fetal Medicine Foundation preferred
• Successful completion of WI Caregiver Background Check (4-year cycle) for employees working in Wisconsin

Pay Range

Pay Range: $41.28 to $57.11 per hourThe pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
