Job summary
MedStar Georgetown University Hospital’s Perinatal Department seeks a Clinical Nurse for the Labor & Delivery unit. You will provide skilled, compassionate care to mothers and newborns, assess evolving conditions, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans.
The role requires 2+ years in hospital-based L&D, DC RN license, BLS, and the ability to obtain NCC C-EFM certification within 12 months.
Qualifications
- ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required. BSN preferred.
- At least two years of recent, hospital-based Labor & Delivery RN experience required. High risk delivery center experience preferred.
- Active DC RN License and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross).
- C-EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring from the NCC preferred; if not certified, certification required within 12 months from date of hire.
Responsibilities
- As a Clinical Nurse on the Labor & Delivery Unit, you will provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across a spectrum of needs—from routine to highly complex. You will assess evolving patient conditions, identify actual and potential health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans.
