Job summary

The Peer Company (TPC) is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to provide peer support and recovery mentorship for pregnant and/or parenting individuals with substance use disorders. You will work with an interdisciplinary team at OHSU Meadowlark on a grant-funded program, meeting participants in various settings and contributing to research activities.

You will help develop person-directed recovery plans, assist with surveys, and attend research meetings, aiming to empower informed care decisions

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background Check: A criminal background check will be conducted in accordance with policy.
• Pre-Hire Drug Screen: Pre-hire drug screenings are required for all potential employees.
• Motor Vehicle Records Search: MVR checks are conducted for driving roles with applicable laws.
• No major driving violations within the past 3 years (i.e. - DUII, careless driving, leaving the scene)

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support and recovery mentorship for pregnant/parenting individuals with SUD.
• Meet participants at OHSU, in the community, in homes, and in hospitals.
• Assist with research activities, e.g., surveys and logging visits in a database.
• Support informed decision-making and empowerment in care and birth/postpartum options.
