Job summary

Impact Life is seeking a Peer Support Doula to provide trauma-informed, non-clinical support to pregnant and postpartum participants affected by SUD, trauma, or justice-system involvement in Sussex County, Delaware. You will combine peer support with doula care, building trust and connecting people with resources.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current CPRS certification or willingness to pursue CPRS certification once eligible.
• Commitment to CPRS training, supervision, and certification timelines.
• Ability to apply peer-support principles with empowerment and respect.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain participant confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to travel locally to participant appointments as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide emotional, informational, and non-clinical support to perinatal participants.
• Mentor using peer-support principles and help prepare for birth and navigate care systems.
• Attend prenatal appointments and postpartum visits as appropriate.
• Provide non-clinical comfort measures within the scope of peer and doula services.
• Maintain professional boundaries and adhere to organizational policies.
• Document services accurately and protect participant confidentiality.
• Participate in supervision, training, and quality-improvement activities.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and community resources to support care.
• Travel locally to participant appointments and service locations as required.
