Job summary

Impact Life, Inc. is seeking a per diem Peer Support Specialist to assist residents in Sussex County, Delaware. You will support recovery through meetings, linkage to services, and emergency responses across men’s Harbeson and women’s Seaford residential programs.

The role requires weekend availability with shift differentials for 2nd and 3rd shifts, and a minimum commitment of one shift per month. Training and wellness resources are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years proven work experience as a Peer Support Specialist or similar role in Behavioral Health, Substance Use Disorder Treatment or related field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly compassionate and attentive to details.
• The ability to be on call for emergencies and work on weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Arrange medical appointments, therapy sessions, support groups, and other resources to aid the client.
• Monitor the resident's behavior, schedule, medication, and activities.
• Report any unusual behavior, conflicts, or recovery deviations to the relevant professionals.
• Liaise with family members and medical professionals regularly.
• Provide culturally appropriate recovery education and support.
• Refer and link clients to appropriate services within the agency and community.
• Collaborate with the resident care team to develop an individualized plan.
• Provide care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner respecting diversity, autonomy, dignity and rights.
