Job summary

CommuniCare+OLE is seeking a Medical Assistant, Perinatal in Davis, CA to support perinatal visits and patient intake. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to facilitate care for a primarily low-income population and ensure accurate charting, referrals, and lab coordination.

The role requires MA training, CPR, and bilingual abilities; prior outpatient experience is preferred. This is a nonexempt, hourly position with responsibilities spanning scheduling, referrals, and care coordination

Qualifications

• Completion of M.A training program required.
• Phlebotomy certification strongly preferred.
• One year of MA experience in an outpatient setting is strongly preferred.
• Experience working in a health clinic or commitment to low-income populations.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish/Dari/Punjabi is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and basic laboratory duties as needed.
• Demonstrate skills to provide age-appropriate care to clients.
• Understand life-span development and age-related patient needs.
• Coordinate care for perinatal patients including scheduling, referrals, and tracking attendance.
• Communicate with Medi-Cal, Partnership and other insurers to assist clients with coverage.
• Ensure CPSP guidelines are followed for health education and care planning.
• Ensure complete patient charts, lab reports, and referrals are in place.
• Prepare and submit billing records accurately.
• Ensure quality assurance and track high-risk patients and postpartum care.
• Enter and monitor midwife schedules in the EMR; support clinical coordinators.
• Coordinate ultrasound and GYN clinics including referrals and translations.
• Attend Perinatal staff and operations meetings as needed.
• Perform other duties to provide high-quality Perinatal services.
• Enter patient data to certify enrollment in programs.
• Travel between clinics to provide support when required.
