Job summary

University of California, San Francisco is seeking a Medical Assistant III at the UCSF Berkeley Outpatient Center. You will support patient flow, rooming, vitals, and health maintenance reviews, and assist in emergencies while maintaining exam-room stock and documentation in the EHR.

You will also perform front-office duties such as scheduling, referrals, and billing/allocation support, with a strong focus on excellent customer service and team communication.

Qualifications

• Certification from an approved Medical Assistant program or equivalent.
• 1+ year Medical Assisting experience in ambulatory settings.
• Phlebotomy CPT certification or pending within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient flow from check-in to check-out and rooming.
• Obtain vital signs and review health maintenance status.
• Stock exam rooms and assist in emergencies.
• Support reception tasks: scheduling, referrals, and communications.
• Document in Electronic Health Record with accuracy.
