Job summary

Northeast Community Clinic in Bell Gardens, CA is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide interpretation, perinatal health education, and psychosocial support within the Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program (CPSP). Qualifications

• Must have Medical Assistant Certification or higher.
• High School Diploma and/or GED required.
• CPHW certification preferred and ongoing trainings.
• At least 1 year of full-time perinatal clinical experience andCPHW certification required.

Responsibilities

• Orient the patient to comprehensive perinatal care at entry of care and throughout pregnancy.
• Complete assessments in obstetric, nutrition, health education and psychosocial aspects using approved forms.
• Create and update the Individualized Care Plan (ICP) with patient follow-ups.
• Provide perinatal education, counseling, referrals and ICP instructions.
• Reassess each trimester and update ICP; provide postpartum care and ICP updates.
• Track attendance, manage required documentation and reports.
• Assist patients with Medi-Cal eligibility and documentation.
• Maintain positive staff relations and support clinic operations.
