Job summary

UC San Diego Health seeks a Perinatal Float Pool RN to support Hillcrest LDRP, Jacobs Medical Center Labor & Delivery, and Postpartum. Float nurses receive unit assignments before each shift and cover based on census, acuity, and staffing needs.

The role requires California RN licensure, BLS/CPR, NRP, fetal monitoring certification, and 2+ years in L&D or Postpartum. May require working nights and rotating locations in a dynamic perinatal team.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Must have an active California RN license.
• BLS/CPR certification at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six months.
• NRP certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics.
• Fetal monitoring course completion certification.
• Minimum two years L&D and/or Postpartum/LDRP RN experience, recent within past year.

Responsibilities

• Provide family-centered care across multiple perinatal units including Hillcrest LDRP and JMC.
• Float to assigned units based on shift census, acuity and staffing needs.
• Respond to high-risk L&D, triage, antepartum care, couplet care, OR and PACU as assigned.
