Methodist Hospital is seeking a Perianesthesia/PACU RN to join the Perianesthesia team in Minnesota. The role involves managing patient care across Pre-Procedure Assessment, Pre-op, Phase I, Phase II, and Extended Recovery.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of nursing; minimum of Associate degree/Diploma in Nursing required.
• New grads not considered.
• ICU, Critical Care, Emergency Center or Hospital PACU experience required within the last five years.
• Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients
• Valid Minnesota Registered Nurse License
• BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines
• Must have ACLS on start date
• Must have PALS within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• The RN – Perianesthesia/PACU position manages the episode of patient care in partnership with persons, care givers, groups and other providers to reach a shared goal of delivering safe, quality health care.
• This patient care may be through direct care by the RN, or it may be through coordinating and supervising patient care delegated to, Nursing Assistants and other unlicensed assistive personnel.
• This position is to work throughout Perianesthesia Department, to include Pre-Procedure Assessment, Pre-op, Phase I, Phase II, and Extended Recovery.
