Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Dallas, TX seeks an experienced ECMO Specialist to contribute to the development of comprehensive ECMO treatment plans. You will assess, plan, implement, and educate as part of the healthcare team, coordinating with the ECMO physician to tailor care for each patient.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree, ECMO training, and clinical licenses, with at least two years in critical care.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • ECMO training program or formal education in extracorporeal circuits.
  • Current RN license in Texas, or RRT license, or CCP perfusion license.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the development of a treatment plan including assessment, planning, implementation, and education.
  • Communicates with the ECMO physician and team to interpret, adjust and complete care plans.
  • Assists in interpretation and adjustment of ECMO therapy to patient needs.
  • Ensures documentation and patient education are completed.

Job Description
Job Purpose

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Completion of a designated ECMO training program, and/or formal education in Extra Corporeal Circulation.
Licenses And/or Certifications
  • Registered Nursing License issued by the State of Texas Board of Nursing
  • Or RRT-Registered Respiratory Therapist License and Current NBRC – National Board of Respiratory Care
  • Or CCP – Certified Perfusion License

And

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association
Work Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience
