Position Overview

Department/Unit: CDT
Work Shift: Per Diem (United States of America)
Salary Range: $49,763.00 - $69,668.00

Essential Job Functions (95%)

• Participate in a rotating call schedule and carry a smart phone.
• Call may exceed fifty percent of days in the month; business hours are dictated by donor activity.
• Work additional hours if required to meet case load demands when off‑call staff are needed.
• Receive and retain 24 hours of call pay from the date called in; call days contribute to triple call pay threshold for the quarter.
• Initially 3 to 8 months of 24/7 call availability to learn and assist with each recovery.
• Perform all responsibilities while promoting a team environment and providing professional customer service to donors, hospitals, coroners, and the public.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of donor information per CDT policies and regulations.
• Travel as required by company vehicle, chartered planes, helicopters, or limousine services.

Organ Perfusion Operations

• Collaborate with surgeons, coordinators, and staff to manage perfusion and preservation of organs.
• Assist hospital OR staff, ICU personnel, and CDT OPCs during donor surgeries.
• Set up surgical fields, prepare sterile ice, mix preservation solutions, assist with dissections, and collect samples per CDT and UNOS protocols.
• Set up perfusion tubing, perform in situ flushes, and monitor organs during surgery.
• Maintain organs post‑surgery, perform pulsatile preservation, monitor parameters, and record data.
• Package organs for static preservation/shipment and coordinate transportation to couriers.
• Assist fly‑outs for import organs and coordinate transportation logistics from airport to hospital and back.
• Accept delivery of imported organs, ensure proper repackaging, and maintain inventory of related supplies.
• Supply and maintain pump room and supply rooms; clean and maintain equipment.
• Provide clinical support for living related and kidney paired donation recoveries.

Office Duties

• Participate in weekly case review meetings and daily morning huddles.
• Contribute to CDT QI processes.
• Enter data for referrals and donors; maintain inventory of donor materials and supplies.
• Document, notify, and communicate reportable events to the Director of Clinical Operations or Executive Director.

Non-essential Job Functions (5%)

• Complete tasks assigned by the Director of Clinical Operations.
• Attend additional meetings as requested.
• Perform any assigned function if capable, regardless of classification.

Qualifications

• Prefer certification in a healthcare field or a degree (Associate’s or Bachelor’s).
• Prefer two or more years of experience in organ perfusion and operating room environments.
• Prefer previous on-call experience.
• Must be physically capable of lifting 75–100 pounds and working extended hours.
• Must keep accurate records, perform calculations, follow guidelines, draft policies, and provide technical training.
• Prefer previous data entry and computer experience.
