Job summary

UCI Health in California seeks a Perfusionist Supervisor to coordinate daily clinical operations of the Cardiac Perfusion services, oversee staffing and scheduling, ensure competencies, and maintain compliance with policies. The role provides leadership, promotes quality and safety, and supports cost‑effective patient care while fostering a collaborative environment across the Health System.

Qualifications

• Three years of demonstrated experience working as a perfusionist, preferably in a level one trauma center.
• Customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Knowledge of sterile and perfusion supplies including extracorporeal oxygenators, tubing circuits, and cannulae for adult, pediatric, and infant patients.
• Knowledge of human anatomy, disease processes, physiology, and biochemistry; arteries, veins, organs, and blood-flow pathways; and pressures and gas exchange in all patient populations.
• Knowledge of blood components, plasma composition, and use of blood products in support of extracorpuale circuits.
• Perfusion experience with all patient populations.
• Clinical leadership experience.
• Bachelor’s degree.

• Coordinate the day-to-day clinical operation of Cardiac Perfusion services.
• Oversee staffing and scheduling for the Perfusion team and ensure competency.
• Lead and direct staff, promote quality, safety, and cost-effective patient care.
• Foster a collaborative working environment across the Health System.
