Job summary

University of California - Irvine Health seeks a Principal Perfusionist to deliver routine and specialized patient care using extracorporeal circulation, under the guidance of an attending physician. You will apply advanced techniques for organ protection, manage blood components, and ensure safety in perfusion protocols.

The role requires experience as a perfusionist, knowledge of sterile technique, and the ability to work varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Two years of recently demonstrated experience as a perfusionist.
• Must know and apply sterile techniques and perfusion protocols.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards (TJC, CDC, AABB) and applicable safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine and specialized patient care requiring extracorporeal circulation and/or oxygenation under physician supervision.
• Perform advanced perfusion techniques for organ protection and preservation.
• Manage blood components, drugs, fluids and blood conservation during perfusion.
• Adapt to variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
