Job summary

Penn State Health - Hershey Medical Center is seeking a Perfusion Assistant to support staff perfusionists in the operating room and cardiothoracic services. You will assist with setup, priming, and maintenance of the heart-lung machine and ECMO circuit, and help manage intra-aortic balloon pumps, cell saver, anticoagulation monitoring, and blood gas analysis.

Full-time role with varied shift and hours, at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Paramedic, or equivalent medical background.
• Two (2) years years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist staff perfusionists with setup, priming, and maintenance of the heart-lung machine and ECMO circuit.
• Intra-aortic balloon pump management, cell saver management, heparin/anticoagulation monitoring and blood gas analysis for cardiothoracic patients.
