Job summary

The Harker School in San Jose, CA is seeking a part-time House Manager to support performing arts events and campus productions throughout the school year. Hours are based on the production schedule and will mostly fall in the evenings and on weekends.

You will oversee front-of-house operations, ensure audience safety, coordinate lobby logistics, mentor student volunteers, and resolve seating or ticketing concerns using On The Stage.

Responsibilities

• Oversees front-of-house operations for performing arts events and campus productions.
• Supervises student volunteers serving as ushers, ticket scanners, and program distributors.
• Coordinates lobby setup and ensures public areas are clean and welcoming.
• Greet patrons, answer questions, and resolve seating or ticketing concerns.
• Uses On The Stage to support ticket scanning and troubleshoot issues.
• Maintains headset communication with the stage manager for cues and late seating.
• Serves as primary front-of-house contact for emergency procedures and audience safety.
• Ensures exits and aisles remain clear and assists patrons with accessibility needs.
• Conducts pre- and post-show inspections and completes front-of-house reports.
• Provides excellent customer service and creates a positive experience for the Harker community.
