Job summary

Coherent Solutions is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to focus on performance testing of our middleware layer powering a connected device platform. You will implement and run JMeter-based tests, analyze results, and work with DevOps and developers to ensure backend and API performance meets reliability standards.

You’ll contribute to the testing framework, develop reusable components, and document findings for reproducible releases.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of QA experience (manual or automation).
• Basic understanding of performance testing concepts and metrics.
• Hands-on exposure to JMeter with test plan structure, scripting, parameterization and assertions.
• Understanding of REST APIs and HTTP basics (methods, status codes, headers, JSON).
• Basic knowledge of Java and object-oriented programming.
• Ability to read graphs, dashboards and basic system metrics.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and ability to work in a team.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum software development process.
• English level: B2 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Execute performance, load, stress, and soak tests for backend services, REST APIs, and microservices using JMeter.
• Develop and maintain JMeter test scripts under guidance of senior engineers.
• Contribute to the performance testing framework with new scenarios and reusable components.
• Analyze test results, prepare reports, and help identify performance bottlenecks with Developers and DevOps.
• Use Grafana and Datadog to review dashboards and logs for root cause analysis.
• Document test plans, scenarios, execution results, and findings clearly.
• Collaborate with Developers, DevOps, and QA to ensure performance criteria are met before release.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and daily team communication.
• Continuously improve performance engineering skills through self-learning and training.
