Job summary

Coherent Solutions is seeking a QA Automation Engineer focused on performance testing for a middleware/service-layer project powering a connected device platform. You will implement, execute, and extend a JMeter-based framework, test REST APIs and microservices, and work closely with DevOps, developers, and senior engineers to ensure reliable backend performance.

The role emphasizes building reusable test components, analyzing results, and contributing to observability via dashboards.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in QA, manual or automation.
• Basic understanding of performance testing concepts and metrics.
• Hands-on exposure to JMeter including test plan structure and assertions.
• Understanding of REST APIs and basics (methods, status codes, JSON).
• Basic knowledge of Java and object-oriented programming.
• Ability to read graphs, dashboards, and system metrics.

Responsibilities

• Execute performance, load, stress, and soak tests for backend services, REST APIs, and microservices using JMeter.
• Develop and maintain JMeter test scripts under guidance of senior engineers.
• Contribute to the performance testing framework with new scenarios and reusable components.
• Analyze test results, prepare reports, and identify bottlenecks with devs and DevOps.
• Use Grafana and Datadog to review dashboards and assist root-cause analysis.
• Document test plans and findings clearly for reproducibility.
• Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and QA to ensure performance criteria are met.
