Job summary

The University of Chicago's Department of Music seeks a Manager of Performance Program Operations to oversee production and logistics for a rigorous schedule of 100+ concerts and events. You will liaise with Directors, venues, and campus partners to ensure smooth execution and collaborative opportunities across campus.

Responsibilities include scheduling, pre-planning, and managing a robust student workforce, audition processes, and ancillary performances while maintaining records and contracts.

Qualifications

• College or university degree required in related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in operations for musical events or not-for-profit settings.
• Experience supervising staff and volunteers, and coordinating concerts and rentals.

Responsibilities

• Manage calendar of all Department of Music activities and schedule concerts and rehearsals.
• Hire, train, and supervise part-time student employees and an operations assistant.
• Oversee event logistics for PP concerts, venue use, and contracts for outside rentals.
• Coordinate audition periods, music lesson award auditions, and Concerto Competition.
• Schedule equipment needs, tuning, and instrument repairs; maintain inventories.
