Job summary

The University of Chicago Department of Music seeks a Manager of Performance Program Operations to oversee production and logistics for a rigorous schedule of more than 100 concerts and events. You will serve as a key liaison with PP Directors, venue partners, and campus/community collaborators, ensuring smooth operations and successful programming.

Qualifications

  • Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
  • Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Manages a comprehensive calendar of all Department of Music activities, resolving date conflicts and event overlaps as needed.
  • Schedules concerts, rehearsals, and other performance events in various venues, coordinating technical support, logistics, and staffing.
  • Co-manages a part-time operations assistant, shared with University of Chicago Presents; hires, trains, and supervises student staff.
  • Oversees scheduling and success for annual audition period and biennial competition; coordinates audition management.
  • Provides training for Ensemble Directors and staff; ensures safe building operations and access to facilities.
