Job summary

Interlochen Center for the Arts is seeking an Associate Performance Librarian to support the Frederick Fennell Music Library. You will prepare, organize, and manage performance materials for Interlochen’s ensembles, ensuring timely access to scores for rehearsals and performances.

This full-time, 12-month role involves collaboration with conductors, faculty, and staff, and requires strong library procedures, music preparation, and independent work with a commitment to service and stewardship of

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Music is required; master’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years in ensemble or performance library roles.
• Knowledge of orchestral literature, terms, and notation.
• Understanding of copyright laws and licensing practices.
• Proficiency with music notation software and library systems.

Responsibilities

• Acquire and prepare parts and scores for ensembles.
• Read/write music in various clefs and transpositions.
• Edit scores by hand and digitally using software.
• Coordinate with faculty and staff on program needs.
• Train and supervise student assistants and interns.
