Job Overview
Lead a team of A&T technicians and machinists in the Machine Shop and Assembly & Test Departments to deliver high‑quality hydraulic and electromechanical precision motion control solutions, ensuring alignment with manufacturing goals and company strategy.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Machine Shop and Assembly & Test Departments, identifying, implementing, and measuring short‑term objectives that align with the company’s strategic plan.
- Assure maximum utilization and efficiency of personnel and equipment to provide optimum productivity at the least possible cost and meet manufacturing schedules and delivery commitments.
- Demonstrate strong self‑initiative, operate with minimal oversight, and exercise sound judgment in decision‑making.
- Evaluate personnel for probationary reports, job postings, and expectation conversations; assist with goal setting and performance discussions.
- Maintain a competent work group by providing technical assistance and instructions, training, development, motivation, and counseling; enforce good housekeeping and safe working conditions to reduce injuries and lost time.
- Ensure accurate production records by maintaining employee time reports and recording attendance and overtime; administer personnel policies fairly and consistently to foster good company/employee relations.
- Handle all employee relations issues before they become major challenges.
- Account for deviant parts by issuing Material Scrap Notices (MSN) and Material Disposition Reports (MDR) and suggest more efficient manufacturing methods.
- Assist in optimizing production standard performance by investigating reasons for variances from standards and initiating appropriate changes.
- Ensure access to U.S. export‑controlled information as required for the position.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline (or equivalent experience) and five years of directly related production experience with prior leadership responsibilities, OR associate’s degree in a related discipline and ten years of production experience with leadership responsibilities.
- Working knowledge of functional manufacturing activities and supporting departments.
- Demonstrated leadership capability, sound judgment, strong organizational skills, and excellent communication.
- Ability to define and prioritize operational goals.
- Proven ability to build strong teamwork within the department and across supporting functions.
- Requires access to U.S. export‑controlled information.

Compensation
Salary Range Transparency: Buffalo, NY $85,000.00–$115,000.00 Annually
