Job Title

Advanced Manufacturing Engineer

Location & Schedule

Onsite – Buffalo, NY (East Aurora, NY) – first shift (Less than 10% travel)

Reporting To

Director of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering or delegate

Responsibilities
  • Assist in identification, development, testing and implementation of appropriate Advanced Manufacturing technologies for application in Military Aircraft Group products and production processes.
  • Support continued manufacturing improvement activities involving Advanced Manufacturing technologies to optimize productivity via throughput increase, product quality, or process variation reduction.
  • Collaborate with Senior Engineers and Project Management to plan, develop, and report on Advanced Manufacturing projects from early to late stages of maturity to production implementation.
  • Interact and interface with Moog employees from other departments, disciplines, sites and divisions to understand business needs and opportunities for Advanced Manufacturing technologies.
  • Become intimately and fundamentally knowledgeable of Moog’s products, designs, and customers’ needs to identify and prioritize Advanced Manufacturing projects for the largest impact on organizational and operational goals.
  • Work effectively in a cross‑functional matrix organization with other teams and sites.
  • Travel may be required as technologies and projects are researched, developed, implemented, and tested.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical field.
  • Preferred: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Software Engineering.
  • Plus 3 years of relevant experience including projects in industrial automation and control systems, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Focused scholastic research or internships/co‑op experience will be considered.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing systems, mechanical systems, electronics, and electromechanical systems preferred.
  • Conceptual understanding of computer programming and software development related to manufacturing systems.
  • Practical computer programming experience is a plus.
  • CAD software knowledge and experience.
  • Siemens NX experience is a plus.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver results within deadlines.
  • Ability and willingness to be flexible and cope with change.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of TRL (Technology Readiness Level) and MRL (Manufacturing Readiness Level) concepts frameworks.
  • Ignition, Fanuc, and Rockwell Automation experience is desired.

Salary Range

Buffalo, NY $65,000.00 – $94,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
