Performance Leader – 2nd shift

Reporting To

Onsite – Buffalo, NY

Overview

Industrial Group specializes in developing custom hydraulic and electromechanical precision motion control solutions. Our current customer base includes flight simulation, oil and gas exploration, mechanical feedback servo valves and electro‑mechanical solutions. The position is part of the Manufacturing Management career ladder and will lead a group of highly skilled A&T technicians and/or machinists to deliver quality products on time.

Responsibilities
  • Assure maximum utilization and efficiency of personnel and equipment to provide optimum productivity at the least possible cost to meet manufacturing schedules and delivery commitments.
  • Demonstrate strong self‑initiative, operate effectively with minimal oversight, and consistently exercise sound judgment in decision‑making.
  • Evaluate personnel within the department for probationary reports, job postings, and expectation conversations; assist in goal setting.
  • Maintain a competent and effective work group by providing technical assistance and instructions, training, developing, motivating, and counseling subordinates.
  • Ensure good housekeeping and safe working conditions; limit job injuries and reduce lost time.
  • Inspect the area daily for unsafe conditions, equipment breakdown, and untidiness.
  • Ensure accurate production records, maintain employee time reports and attendance, and administer personnel policies fairly and consistently.
  • Handle all employee relations issues proactively.
  • Account for deviant parts by issuing Material Scrap Notices and Material Disposition Reports and suggest more efficient manufacturing methods.
  • Assist in optimizing production standard performance by investigating reasons for variances and initiating appropriate changes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (or equivalent experience) and five years of directly related production experience with prior leadership responsibilities, OR associate’s degree and ten years of such experience.
  • Working knowledge of functional manufacturing activities and supporting departments.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, sound judgment, strong organizational skills, and excellent communication.
  • Ability to define and prioritize operational goals.
  • Proven ability to build strong teamwork within the department and across supporting functions.
  • Access to U.S. export‑controlled information.

Salary

Buffalo, NY $85,000.00–$115,000.00 Annually
