Position type: Full-time, Contract Hybrid Position – 3 Days Onsite and 2 Day Remote work in a week!!! Duration: 12 -18 Months Contract. Location(s): Either Plano, TX 75024 OR Charlotte, NC 28202.

Job Description

Our direct client is looking for a Performance Engineer who has recent hands‑on experience with HPE NonStop (Tandem) systems on NSK/ Guardian Operating System, large-scale transaction processing environments, and end-to-end performance validation across distributed and mainframe-connected platforms.

What is the goal / mission of this project?

• The Performance and Capacity Testing Team is seeking an experienced Performance Engineer with expertise in designing, executing, and analyzing performance tests for mission‑critical, high‑availability applications.

Required Experience and Skills

• 5+ years of performance engineering and performance testing experience.


• At least 3+ years of experience supporting, testing, or performance engineering applications running on HPE NonStop (NSK) platforms.


• Ability to analyze CPU, memory, I/O, network, and transaction metrics.


• Should have good hands‑on experience with performance testing tools such as LoadRunner, JMeter, NeoLoad, or equivalent.


• Strong SQL and database performance analysis skills.

HPE NonStop (Tandem) Experience

• Understanding of NonStop architecture, including:

  • Process pair concepts
  
  
  • CPU and memory isolation
  
  
  • Automatic failover and recovery mechanisms
  
  
  
  


• Experience validating system performance during failover and recovery scenarios.


• Knowledge of Guardian/NSK operating system concepts.


• Experience testing high‑volume transaction processing applications hosted on NonStop platforms.

Core Technical Skills

• Experience with transaction monitoring and observability tools.


• Experience with Linux/Unix environments.


• Knowledge of middleware technologies such as MQ, JMS, REST APIs, and event‑driven architectures.

Plus Skills

• Banking, payments, treasury, RTP, ACH, card processing, or financial services experience.


• Experience with Pathway, SQL/MX, SQL/MP, TAL, COBOL, or C/C++ applications on NonStop.


• Experience testing systems requiring near‑zero downtime and high availability.


• Familiarity with cloud, container, and distributed application performance testing.


• Experience with Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Splunk, or similar monitoring platforms.

Pay Rate Range for Plano, TX (A-Market): $70.00/hr-$73.00/hr

Pay Rate Range for Charlotte, NC (B-Market): $62.00/hr-$65.00/hr

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
