Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Performance Engineer for AES CE to analyze and optimize performance of photovoltaic and battery storage projects. You will support O&M engineering, ensure assets operate above reliability standards, and drive improvements across operations and design.

The role requires strong analytical skills, engineering background, and ability to travel 10–15% within the U.S. to support a growing portfolio.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering or equivalent technical field.
• Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend equipment/facility schematics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
• Willingness to travel within the U.S. to support portfolio of PV solar/BESS assets.

Responsibilities

• Analyze operational performance and trends of solar plus storage sites.
• Lead performance tests and review system design for root causes of energy loss.
• Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports with variance analysis.
• Collaborate with Operations and Engineering to identify improvements.
