Job summary

Battelle Memorial Institute seeks a highly motivated Performance Dietitian to support SOF through evidence‑based nutrition planning and program design. The role includes clinical and administrative duties, medical record documentation, and collaboration with the POTFF HP team to optimize mission readiness and performance.

Responsibilities cover counseling, program development for garrison to deployed settings, training materials, and data collection while ensuring safety and regulatory

Qualifications

• Master’s level degree in Nutrition Science or related field.
• Active RD certification from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) with CSSD certification; CSSD may be waived if other qualifications are met.
• At least three years of demonstrable experience as a Performance Dietitian with athletes at NCAA/Olympic/professional/SOF levels.
• Ability to meet physical demands, hike in austere environments, observe SOF training, and assist with strength testing.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 kg and maintain clinical privileges if required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification and state licensure; ability to obtain/maintain U.S. government clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide nutrition guidance to enhance recovery and performance for SOF personnel.
• Design and implement performance nutrition programs for SOF in various settings.
• Maintain records, develop educational materials, and ensure proper documentation in health records.
• Collaborate with HP program Manager, coordinate with other staff, and provide staff training.
• Manage supplies, inventory, and equipment related to nutrition services.
• Document care in Military Health Records (AHLTA, GENESIS, SPEAR) as directed.
