Job summary

Ford Racing in Michigan is seeking a Body Exterior Engineer to lead design, release, and delivery of exterior components for Ford Performance, managing QCWFT and engaging with Purchasing to source commodities.

You will collaborate with Core Body Exterior Engineering, support production and cost optimization, and drive innovation with CAE analysis, testing, and risk management across prototype builds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years in body exterior design and release with completed program delivery.
• Experience with Body Structures or Exterior D&R is a plus.
• 2+ years CAD tool usage and visualization experience.
• Understanding of GPDS and program delivery processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, release, and delivery of body exterior components for Ford Performance.
• Manage QCWFT to support program milestones and GPDS.
• Collaborate with Purchasing to source commodities and drive program delivery.
• Lead FSS or other resources to deliver programs and ensure regulatory conformance.
• Develop innovative exterior solutions with CAE, analysis, and testing.
