Job summary

Ford Racing is looking for a Body Exterior Engineer to join our engineering team, delivering design, release, and testing of exterior components for performance vehicles. The role emphasizes CAD proficiency, GPDS knowledge, and collaboration across cross-functional teams.

The candidate will lead program delivery through milestones, work with suppliers, and ensure adherence to Ford Racing DNA and regulatory requirements. Hybrid onsite work arrangement is included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical/equivalent Engineering is required.
• 2+ years of Body Exterior Design & Release experience including one completed program.
• Body Structures, closures, or Exterior D&R experience may be considered.
• 2 years of CAD or visualization tools experience.
• Understanding of GPDS/program delivery processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, release, and delivery of Body Exterior components and systems for Ford Performance.
• Manage QCWFT to support program and engineering GPDS milestones.
• Work with Purchasing to source commodities.
• Lead program delivery through milestones.
• Lead FSS or other resources to deliver programs.
• Ensure conformance to Ford Performance DNA and regulatory requirements.
• Develop innovative design solutions including CAE analysis and testing.
• Support issue resolution during prototype builds and launches.
• Interface with Core Body Exterior Engineering Organization.
• Support current production and quality efforts.
• Support cost optimization efforts.
