Job summary

Waymo is seeking a senior ML Engineer to advance perception and sensing for autonomous driving. You will develop multi-modal sensor fusion and spatial-temporal representations for object detection and tracking using large-scale data and compute infrastructure.

The role requires 3+ years in ML/CV, Python and PyTorch or JAX, with preference for advanced degrees. This is a hybrid position reporting to a Technical Lead Manager, with competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent ML experience.
• 3+ years of experience in Machine Learning and Computer Vision.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience with PyTorch or JAX.

Responsibilities

• Apply ML techniques for multi-modal sensor fusion and spatial-temporal representation for object detection and tracking.
• Develop scalable data pipelines and training recipes on large-scale compute infrastructure.
• Create distributed fine-tuning methods to improve models without regression.
• Develop and maintain model evaluation recipes and metrics to measure performance.
