Job summary

Applied Intuition Defense seeks a Perception Engineer to advance perception models and deployment on edge devices for multi-domain targets. You will work with cutting-edge detectors, labeling tools, and MLOps, contributing to DoD testing and demonstrations.

You will leverage PyTorch across multi-GPU systems, develop with Python/C++, and collaborate with top AI talent to push the performance of models in EO/IR domains.

Qualifications

• MS/PhD or 5+ years in simulation, ML, and ML infrastructure.
• Proficient in PyTorch on multi-machine, multi-GPU systems.
• Experience deploying ML models to edge devices.
• Strong Python and/or C++ coding skills.
• Familiar with AI-powered development tools to speed up build.
• Comfort with remote software development and large datasets.

Responsibilities

• Develop perception models with low error rates on targets.
• Deploy models to Jetson Orin+ boards with optimization for real-time performance.
• Build large foundation models for data labeling.
• Create tooling across the perception stack (labeling, simulation).
• Collaborate with AI talent across teams and vendors.
• Scale datasets with simulation, diffusion, and generative AI.
• Optimize inference software for FPS on Jetson-like hardware.
• Coordinate deployment with hardware, sensor, and testing teams during on-site DoD testing.
