Applied Intuition Defense seeks a Perception Engineer to advance perception models across maritime, land and aerial domains using transformers, diffusion and video-model pipelines. We develop our own detector and labeling tooling and deploy to edge devices with large token budgets.

If you have extensive modeling experience with transformers, vision-language models, diffusion models, and video pipelines, we need you. Expect collaboration with DoD testing teams and a fast-paced R&D environment.

Qualificações

• MS or PhD in Computer Engineering, Robotic Engineering, Computer Science, or 5+ years of related experience.
• Proficiency in training ML models in PyTorch on multi-machine, multi-GPU systems.
• Experience in optimizing and deploying ML models to edge devices.
• Strong experience with Python and/or C++.
• Experience leveraging AI development tools like GitHub Copilot and Cursor.
• Ability to handle large datasets, remote development, and quick learning with little supervision.

Responsabilidades

• Develop perception models that find and classify targets with a very low error rate.
• Deploy models to Jetson Orin+ boards and optimize for near real-time performance.
• Build large foundation models for data labeling.
• Create tooling across labeling and simulation for the perception stack.
• Collaborate with top AI talent and Applied Intuition Defense staff.
• Scale datasets with simulation, diffusion, and generative AI.
• Maintain optimized models and inference software for high FPS on Jetson-like hardware.
• Coordinate with hardware, sensor, autonomy, and testing teams for DoD deployments.
