Job summary

FastTek Global is seeking a Perceived Quality Engineer to join the Studio Craftsmanship team in Michigan. The role focuses on designing and executing live product quality to meet brand commitments, influencing both design and development across the process.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in perceived quality standards in automotive, 2 full program cycles from concept to launch, and strong GD&T and Catia skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Engineering or technical discipline; Master's preferred.
• 5+ years' experience with Perceived Quality Standards in a global Automotive company.
• 2 full program cycles from concept to production launch in automotive Exterior and Interior Components and Systems.
• Knowledge of part and assembly tolerance stack analysis.
• Proficient with Catia or similar CAD software.
• Proficient understanding of GD&T.
• Strong materials selection, plastic injection molding/DFM, and GD&T.
• Strong statistical awareness and perception of quality.
• Experience in manufacturing/production environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop a comprehensive master deck outlining specifications for all interfaces and ensure alignment between Studio and Engineering inputs.
• Define fit and finish targets; coordinate cross-functional teams for exterior/interior and accessory developments.
• Recommend alternative surface designs and interface solutions to improve perceived quality.
• Provide guidance on minimum section requirements based on materials and manufacturing processes.
• Lead benchmarking and deliver analyses to engineering and design teams.
• Lead issue identification and resolution during prototype builds.
• Translate feasibility into actionable direction for the Studio team.
