Responsibilities include:

1. Maintaining sanitation of all assigned food service areas, including floors, walls, shelving, coolers, and service/preparation stations.
2. Conducting food preparation in a safe, organized, and sanitary manner, adhering to safe food handling practices.
3. Transporting food to patient units, cafeteria, and other departments within the Medical Center.
4. Storing and rotating food according to FIFO (first in, first out).
5. Washing and sanitizing pots, pans, and utensils according to sanitation regulations.
6. Cleaning and sanitizing work areas, including refrigerators, freezers, and equipment.
7. Disposing of food waste safely and hygienically.
8. Managing storeroom activities: receiving, storing, maintaining inventory, and distributing food and supplies.
9. Issuing and delivering food and supplies, ensuring proper inventory rotation and storage standards.
10. Assisting with basic food prep and cooking, maintaining departmental standards.
11. Receiving and checking incoming deliveries, maintaining accurate inventory records.
12. Maintaining temperature logs and ensuring all compliance standards are met.
13. Qualifications include the ability to read and understand instructions, basic math skills, and a high school diploma or equivalent preferred. Certification as a Food Handler is required within 1 week of hire.
