Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Columbus - Vic Village (Dennison Ave) is seeking a Unit Secretary for Per Diem shifts (12-hour days, 7am-7pm). Responsibilities include clerical work, order transcription, message delivery, and coordinating transportation for tests and patient movement.

The role offers extensive orientation, opportunities for advancement, and benefits supporting work-life balance; per diem positions are eligible for a 401k after 1,000 hours within the first year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with medical files and terminology.

Responsibilities

• Provide clerical services to patient care units, including transcription of orders and filing reports.
• Answer the telephone and relay messages accurately.
• Maintain communication with Charge Nurse/House Supervisor.
• Handle paperwork promptly and coordinate transport and tests.
• Verify physician privileges before transcribing orders.
• Arrange patient transport for tests not offered in the hospital.
